Boys Youth

We are extremely proud of the whole of our youth section and our boys component is a massive part of this.

The Youth Section at Winterbourne CC caters for young players from the age of 5 all the way through to 18. Below you can find our offering for the 2021 season broken down by age group and school year:

RECEPTION TO YEAR 2 (5-7)- For our youngest cricketers we are pleased to be running the All Stars again in 2021. The All Stars is a nationally run scheme which aims to give KS1 pupils a first introduction to cricket in a fun and safe environment. Our All Stars programme takes place on a Friday evening and is always a great occasion with the BBQ on and the bar open as well as our ever popular sweet shop! Included in the cost is a kit bag for each player, a personalised Winterbourne CC top and a whole summers worth of cricket (The scheme is supposed to be 8 weeks long but we run it for all the whole summer). YEAR 3 & YEAR 4 (7-9)- This year we have 2 options available to those young players at the start of KS2. The first of these is new for 2021 and is our DYNAMOS programme. This is another nationally run programme which aims to follow on and help players develop the skills they learnt in All Stars. Alternatively, for those looking to play more competitively we have a Youth Softball and Youth Hardball membership which is geared towards hardball and softball cricket respectively. Training for all of our Year 3 and 4's will take place on a Friday evening and to sign up head to the membership area of our shop.

YEAR 5 & YEAR 6 (9-11)- Children in Year 5 and 6 have the same options open to them as those in Year 3 and 4. We do anticipate, however, that most of the players will be ready to opt for the hardball membership and represent the club in league and cup fixtures. Training takes place on Friday evenings and to sign up head to the membership area of our shop.

YEAR 7 & YEAR 8 (11-13)- Those children at the start of secondary school will be hardball members in 2021 and play for our U13 side. To sign up head to the membership area of our shop.

YEAR 9 & YEAR 10 (13-15)- By this age we anticipate most, if not all, of our young players will be playing hardball competitive matches in one of our U15 sides. Some will also be starting to make their first appearances for the senior sides. Training takes place on Monday evenings during the summer and players can sign up in the membership area of our shop.

YEAR 11 & YEAR 12 (15-17)- Most players at this age will be playing their cricket in one of our 5 senior sides. We will be running an U17 side in 2021 as well to compliment the senior cricket. Our U17's will train with the senior sides on Tuesday evenings.
